Simara: More than 37,000 children have been vaccinated against measles and rubella in Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city. During the vaccination campaign conducted from 13th to 17th of Falgun, 37,381 children aged between 9 months and 15 years were vaccinated.

More than 200 personnel were deployed in the sub-metropolitan city to conduct the five-day vaccination campaign. The said personnel vaccinated the target children from 125 vaccination centers.

According to the data of the District Health Office, 32,297 children in Jeetpursimara should be vaccinated. According to Bhaskar, the number has increased because the children of citizens who are living in different places due to employment and business have been vaccinated from the center of the sub-metropolitan city.

The government has launched a nationwide vaccination campaign with the aim of completely eliminating measles-rubella infection in 2026. As part of the campaign, the Public Health Office also decided to conduct a vaccination campaign in three phases in 16 localities within the district.

According to which, in the first phase, the campaign has been conducted in Jeetpursimara, Kalaiya, Prasauni, Parwanipur, Feta. In the second phase, vaccination will be administered in Nijgadh, Kolhbi, Karaiyamai, Baragadhi and Mahagadhimai municipalities from 20th to 24th of Falgun. Similarly, in the third phase, vaccination campaign will be conducted in Simraungadh, Pacharauta, Suwarna, Devatal and Aadarsh ​​Kotwal from 4th to 8th of Chaitra, Head of Health Office Ramnaresh Yadav informed eshilalekh.
