Jeetpursimara Gold Cup: Army won the opening match

Simara: Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the quarter finals of the 14th edition of jeetpursimara Gold Cup in the opening match.

Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the quarter finals of goldcup which started on Saturday, by shocking Birgunj United Club 3-2.

Faguram Chaudhary took the lead in the 41th minute of the game through a penalty for Birgunj. Army’s Kamal thapa made the Army’s supporters happy by scoring the equalizing goal in the first half.

In the second half, Army took an early lead against Birgunj. In the 82nd minute of the match, Faguram scored a goal in a counter attack by beating Army goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu.

Phateman Ghale scored the decisive goal for Army in the injury time of the second half. Taking advantage of the mistakes of Birgunj’s defenders, Phateman easily converted Dinesh Hemjan’s cross ball into a goal.

Army’s Dinesh Hemjan was declared Man of the Match. He received a trophy including 10,000 cash which was intended by Shubharambha College. On Sunday, there will be a match between former winners Church Boys United and Salhes Yuwa Club of Siraha.
