Couple Shot and Injured While Fighting Off Robbers in Mahottari
Mahottari: A young couple was shot and injured on Tuesday night after they tried to stop a group of robbers from entering their home in Mahottari. The incident took place at Khakhana Dakshinbari Tole in Sonama Rural Municipality 3.
According to the police, an unknown group of 5 to 6 people broke into the house to commit a robbery. When 27-year-old Ram Ishwar Yadav and his 22-year-old wife Kiran Yadav tried to fight back and stop them, the criminals opened fire.
Both husband and wife were injured in the shooting. They received initial treatment at a local hospital and were later sent to Janakpur for further medical care.
Following the incident, a police team arrived at the scene to investigate and found a bullet casing. Police said they have started an intense search to catch the runaway suspects, and further investigation into the crime is underway.
