Nepali Taekwondo Pioneers Shine at AAU Nationals
FLORIDA, USA: Nepali-origin taekwondo referees and coaches received widespread recognition for their contributions at the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Taekwondo Championship 2026, held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The prestigious championship, which took place from June 28 to July 4, brought together hundreds of athletes, coaches, and officials from across the United States. Among those serving as referees and coaches were renowned Nepali taekwondo figures Master Kumar Karki, Master Gopal Bhandari, Master Sanjiv Nepali, Master Bikash Gurung, and Sagar Gubhaju. Notably, three of the referees were highly commended for their outstanding service during the tournament.
