Second ‘SQC’ Conference Concluded at Ekata School, Simara
Simara: The second Student Quality Circle (SQC) conference has concluded at Ekata School in Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Bara. The event was organized to support the well-rounded development of students.
Ekata School has been hosting the SQC conference annually since last year. According to school teacher Diwash Neupane, SQC aims to foster overall personal growth, helping students become responsible, competent, and high-quality citizens. He noted that the initiative enables students to identify and solve their own problems while preparing them to become disciplined and effective leaders in the future.
Neupane highlighted that through SQC, students learn to identify practical issues within their groups or school environment and resolve them using scientific methods. Working in teams enhances their spirit of cooperation, collaboration, and leadership skills, while instilling discipline and a sense of social responsibility.
School Principal Madan Rijal emphasized the importance of SQC in personality development beyond textbook knowledge. Participating in SQC activities, discussions, and conferences refines students’ public speaking, expression, and presentation skills, while building confidence and creative problem-solving abilities in challenging situations.
Students from Classes 4 to 10 participated in the school-level conference. Additionally, two teams from Class 10 have been selected to represent the school at the national conference in Kathmandu.
The conference was chaired by Principal Madan Rijal, with QUEST Nepal Central Member Bhojraj Subedi attending as the chief guest. Principals from various local schools—including Basanta Dhakal, Kishor Shrestha, Sagar Thada Magar, Narendra Tamang, Subhash Adhikari, Shanta Ram Khanal and Chandan Chaudhary—were also present.
During the program, Class 10 student Aishwarya Shrestha delivered the welcome speech, while Yunika Kandel presented a welcome song. The event was facilitated by Class 10 students Prateek Baral and Smriti Shrestha.
