Three People with Disabilities Receive Electric Tricycles and Wheelchairs in Jeetpur Simara
Simara: Three people with disabilities in Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City received electric tricycles and wheelchairs at their homes on Sunday. The support was provided by the Prabhu Shamsher Jabra and Razi Rana Charitable Private Trust.
Dil Bahadur Basnet, a 69-year-old resident of Jeetpursimara-1, received an electric tricycle. He was born without a left leg and found it very difficult to move around using a regular hand-driven wheelchair as he grew older. Previously relying on his wife, Thag Kumari, for movement, he smiled happily upon receiving the electric tricycle and expressed his determination to start a small business to support himself.
Similarly, 36-year-old Shanti Kumari Prasai of Pathalaiya, Jeetpursimara-1, received a wheelchair. She became completely disabled in her hands and legs due to an illness at the age of eight. Shanti Kumari looked happy after getting her first wheelchair, and her brother, Ramhari Prasai, noted that it would now be much easier to help her move around.
Additionally, 20-year-old Zamir Ansari of Jeetpursimara-19, who has had a full disability since birth, received a wheelchair for the first time. The youngest son of Fateh Alam Ansari, Zamir’s family and villagers were overjoyed to see him sitting in the wheelchair.
Local individuals Shiva Paudel, Ramesh Thapa, Raj Das Shrestha, and Ganga Prasad Wagle, the former president of the Nepal Disabled Service Association, Bara, visited their homes directly to hand over the equipment. Wagle praised the trust for its deeply humanitarian work.
Razi Rana, the founder of the trust who is active in social service, previously distributed tricycles to six people and wheelchairs to two people in Jeetpursimara and Kalaiya on her 88th birthday. Recently, she also provided one carore nine lakh rupees and 25 lakh rupees worth of food supplies to flood victims in Rasuwa.
