Armed Police Force Seizes Illegal Goods and Vehicles in Bara
Simara: The Armed Police Force (APF) has seized illegal goods and vehicles smuggled across the border from Kalyanpur in Bishrampur Rural Municipality-1, Bara, on Sunday.
A patrol team deployed from the APF Border Outpost (BOP) Barainiya intercepted and confiscated various items including snack chips (kurkure), tobacco, shoes, and clothing being illegally brought into Nepal from India.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Bikram Mani Adhikari, information officer for APF Number 12 Battalion Headquarters in Bara, the security personnel also impounded two bicycles, one motorcycle, and one scooter used by the smugglers during the operation.
The total estimated value of all the recovered goods and vehicles is seven hundred ninety-five thousand five hundred rupees (Rs. 795,500). Police stated that the confiscated items and vehicles are currently being handed over to the Birgunj Customs Office in Parsa for further investigation and legal action.
