Simara: A car caught fire on Tuesday morning at Bangari Bridge under Pathlaiya-Nijgadh road section due to short circuit.
The fire broke out in a car (Pra 2-02-001 Cha 0165) heading towards Hetauda from Lalbandi. The driver was safe even though the car was completely destroyed by the fire, police said.
The car driven by Krishna Kumar Mahato of Lalbandi 11 had caught fire when it reached the Bangari Bridge at Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolis 16.
The fire was brought under control with the help of fire brigade of Jeetpusimara Sub-metropolitan Municipality and Nijgadh Municipality, police said.
Although the fire was brought under control, most parts of the car were destroyed by fire. The fire has caused a loss of Rs 26 Lakh, said Bara Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Thapa.
