25 Youths Arrested for Promoting Gang Culture on social media, 21 motorcycles seized

Siraha: Police have arrested 25 youths for allegedly spreading fear in society by using the names of different gangs and groups on social media.

According to police, several groups were being operated on TikTok, Facebook, and other social media platforms under names such as ‘Balan Ka Raja, Bhagwanpur Ka Raja, Lahan Ka Raja and Hatyara Bhai.’ These groups were posting abusive and threatening content and promoting gang culture.

Police said they increased monitoring after receiving reports that groups of three to four people were riding motorcycles on highways without helmets, vehicle documents, or number plates. They were also accused of making noise, breaking traffic rules, and disturbing public peace and security.

During a routine check on the Siraha-Choharwa road section, police detained 25 youths. Among them were 12 from Balan Bihul Rural Municipality in Saptari, 2 from Lahan Municipality, 6 from Bishnupur Rural Municipality, and 5 from Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality in Siraha.

Police also seized 21 motorcycles from the suspects. The District Police Office said that legal action has been started and further investigation is underway.
