Man’s throat slit and killed in Simara

Simara: A 35-year-old man, Sher Bahadur Khadka, was murdered on Saturday evening. His throat was slit with a knife in Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-2, Bara, near Nepal Cable.

Khadka, a local resident of Jeetpursimara-2, was attacked while having snacks inside the Samjhana Staff Hotel in Simara.

Severely injured in the incident, Khadka was rushed immediately to the Jeetpursimara Municipal Hospital. When the municipal hospital stated that treatment was beyond their capacity, he was transferred to Bayodha Hospital in Birgunj, where doctors declared him dead immediately upon performing an ECG. His body remains at Bayodha Hospital, and police have begun preparing the legal inquest report.

The perpetrator who attacked Khadka ran away. According to preliminary information, four youths under the influence of alcohol had arrived while Khadka was sitting at the hotel. Although it has not yet been clarified which of the four individuals wielded the knife, police stated that the suspects are locals.

Two of the youths fled the crime scene, while the other two accompanied him in the ambulance to the hospital. Those two were taken into custody by police directly from the hospital.

A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Daya Krishna Bhatta from the Simara Area Police Office has secured the crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
