Three gold medals for Nepal in Poomsae

Nepal has bagged three gold medals in the Digi Asian Taekwondo Open Poomsae Championship held in the United States and the Philippines. Sanjeev Nepali, Sandipa Amagai and Prem Kumar Darnal of Nepal won gold in the competition organized through video.

In the men’s 30-40 age group, Sanjeev defeated Clive Collado of the United States. Sanjeev scored 5.433 while Cleve scored 4.483. Similarly, Sandipa won gold by defeating Sanon Masden of USA.

In the 18-30 age group, Sandipa added 5,500 while Sanon added 5,400. Similarly, another Nepali player Prem Kumar also beat Amelira’s Tim Omeira. In the 40-45 age group, Prem Kumar added a score of 5.067. Omeira added 5,000 points.

 Five Nepali players participated in the tournament. Nepali players have participated in the competition through video from Macau. Indonesia, Australia, Singapore and Slovenia participated in the competition along with the organizers USA and Philippines, said Kasim Mia, an official of the Nepal Taekwondo Association.
