APF and NRT on the verge of making history
Simara: Divisional team Nepal APF Club and New Road Team (NRT) are battling for the title of Jagdamba 12th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup on Saturday. In the final match to be played at Simara Stadium, both the teams will not only win the title but also make history.
This title is important for both teams. In the current season, when the APF tries to lift the second title, NRT will be in the strategy of writing the first title in its own name. Earlier, APF had won the first title of the season by defeating Manang in a tiebreaker in the 20th Aha Rara Gold Cup final held in Magh.
This is the fourth competition of APF except Aha Rara. After losing the competition in Jhapa and Bagmati, APF reached Jitpur Simara Gold Cup. This is the third tournament played by NRT in the current season. Before coming to Simara, NRT had participated in the Sudurpschim Khaptad Gold Cup and Bagmati Gold Cup.
In both the competitions, Bagmati was an obstacle for NRT. After losing to Bagmati in two competitions, NRT reached Simara, beating Bijaya Youth Club Hetauda in the first match and Janajagriti Youth Club in the second match.
APF defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club and Bagmati Youth Club in the final. Reaching the 12th edition of Jeetpursimra Gold Cup The APF, which participated in all 11 editions has not been able to lift the title. APF, which reached the final in the second edition, lost to Himalayan Sherpa and became the runner-up.
The title of Jeetpur Simra Gold Cup is important in itself for APF, which has been participating in 11 other editions except one. That is why APF wants to lift the Gold Cup title for the first time by defeating NRT.
APF coach Kumar Thapa said that this time he will return after writing his name in Jeetpursimara Gold Cup. Stating that he was disappointed not to be able to win the title even after a long participation, Thapa said that he was confident of becoming the winner of the 12th edition as he got the opportunity this time.
While Thapa is claiming the title, NRT coach Raju Kaji Shakya claims that his team will win. Although APF is a strong team, NRT is not weak, said Shakya. Shakya said that he will return home after winning the Jeetpursimra Gold Cup this season. He said that this title is very important for NRT.
This is the first meeting between APF and NRT in the current season except A Division League. In the league held in Kathmandu, both the teams had drawn 3-3. The match between the two teams, which are meeting for the first time after the league, is expected to be exciting.
The coaches of both the organizing teams also say that the final will be exciting. APF coach Kumar Thapa said that he was confident that the match between the two A Division teams would be exciting and competitive.
NRT coach Shakya says he is optimistic that the final fight will be as the spectators want it to be. Shakya says that his team is ready to challenge APF as there is no change in the team and there are regular players.
NRT captain Ranjan Bista also said that they are ready to face the challenge of APF as they have to win the title. Although APF is a strong team, the players of his team will enter the field by making a strategy according to the opposing team, said Bista.
Meanwhile, APF captain Navin Lama said that he could not wait long for the title. Stating that he was saddened by not being able to win the title even after many years of participation, Lama said that the title was important for him and the team. Captain Lama said that APF will also continue its regular players.
