Simara: Sanjiv Nepali from Bara, Nijgadh Municipality 7 is a well-known name in the field of Taekwondo. He is not only well-known in this field, he is famous as a successful player in making Nepal known internationally through Taekwondo.

Sanjiv, who has won many medals for the country by participating in international level competitions, is among the main players who have hoisted the national flag of Nepal abroad. Sanjiv ‘s success in Taekwondo has established his identity today.

Sanjiv, who has been dedicated to Taekwondo since childhood, has now turned from player to coach. His passion for Taekwondo not only limited him to being a player, but also inspired him to take on the role of a coach to produce skilled players. Therefore, he decided to dedicate the rest of his life to Taekwondo and is active in this field.

Sanjiv, who reached the pinnacle of success in Taekwondo, spent his childhood in an ordinary family. He was attracted to taekwondo since he was in class 6. In 1999, Sanjiv officially started his playing career. Sanjiv was attracted to this sport after his father Bhawnath, mother Manjudevi and uncle Gokul inspired him to play taekwondo.

After entering Taekwondo, Sanjiv, who is a member of Nijgadh Dojang, started taking regular training. He was trained by Krishnamurari Khadka and Chitra Bahadur Lama. Khadka is currently active in taekwondo in America, while Lama is the president of the district branch of Taekwondo Association. Trained by Khadka and Lama, Sanjiv started making taekwondo games regularly.

It was easy for Sanjiv because the place where taekwondo was close to home. While playing taekwondo, he started gathering experience by participating in various local and regional competitions. Even the coach was very impressed by his game. He got encouragement from everyone because of his attractive performance.

Sanjiv, who pursued Taekwondo and education together, reached Kathmandu after studying at the proficiency level. After reaching Kathmandu for further higher education, he started playing Taekwondo regularly. He joined Jawalakhel Dojang and started training junior players.

Sanjiv, who reached Kathmandu from Nijgadh, got the opportunity to participate in many competitions and gain experience. Which sharpened his game and made him move towards success.

Sanjiv Nepali

Sanjiv won the gold medal for Nepal in the ‘British Autumn Open Championship’ held in Manchester, UK in 2019. Before that, he won a silver medal in the 16th championship organized by the Hong Kong-Nepal Taekwondo Federation in 2018 and a bronze medal in the 20th International Taekwondo Championship held in Barcelona, ​​Spain in 2019.

He won the gold medal in the 22nd Asian Cities Taekwondo Championship held in Hong Kong. He has completed the Master’s course held on July 22, 2018 in Muju, South Korea. Sanjiv, who has achieved many successes in Taekwondo, has participated in the US Open held in Las Vegas in 2019, the Canada Open in 2018 and the G-Rank International Coach Seminar in 2018.

In 2021, Sanjiv went to Macau for further training. After arriving there, he joined the Macau Taekwondo Federation and started training himself and others. Along with the players, Sanjiv has also played the role of a referee in many competitions.

Sanjiv, who has garnered attention in the country and abroad through sports, has also been honored by various organizations. National Sports Council, Non-Resident Nepali Organization Macau, Madhesh Province Government, Jawalakhel Taekwondo Dojang, Nijgadh Municipality, Tarkeshwar Municipality have also honored him. Sanjeev, who has been honored by many organizations, wants to dedicate his life to Taekwondo.

Taekwondo game has brought recognition. Now my goal will be to produce skilled players in this game” Sanjiv said, “The more players I can produce, the more satisfaction I will get.”
