Scrabble competition will be held in Simara from 18th of Kartik

Simara: The 9th national level Scrabble competition is going to be held on 18th Kartik at Lotus Academy located in Jeetpursimara-2. Scrabble Club Pokhara is going to organize a competition with the participation of 22 districts. Organizer said that Students from schools in Bara, Siraha, Rupandehi, Surkhet, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Gulmi, Illam, Chitwan, Palpa, Kathmandu, Parbat, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Kailali, Tanahun, Dhanusha, Dang, Morang, Baglung and Panchthar districts participated in the competition.

One hundred and 40 people from 22 districts will participate in the competition. According to the president of the organizing club, Keshav Prasad Parajuli, 20 people selected from the competition will be selected for the international Scrabble competition to be held in Kathmandu. For the first time in Nepal, an international competition is going to be held at Bright Future School in Naikap, Chandragiri municipality on Magh 5th and 6th.

This game, which started in America in 1938, can be played by 2 to 4 people. Scrabble is played using one hundred font tiles from A to Z on a 15/15 size board. In Nepal, Scrabble started playing as a competition about 10 years ago. Ram Prasad Adhikari, Founder Principal of Lotus Academy informed in the press conference that the Scrabble game helps in language development, communication skills, cooperation, creating new words and helps in various English language activities among the competitors.
