Fire at Nepovit Tile Industry
Simara: A fire broke out at Nepal Ceramic Industries located in Jeetpursimara-8, which is producing Nepovit brand tiles. Millions worth of damage has been caused by the fire.
The fire started at around 3:30 pm in the area where tiles produced by the industry were stored. The fire that started from that area spread to other places of the industry.
The fire was brought under control with the help of the fire brigade of Nepal Police located in Birgunj, Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city, Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city and Birgunj metropolitan city.
Nepal Police, Armed Police, local and industrial workers were deployed to extinguish the fire along with the fire brigade. The aide of the director of the industry, Shambhunath Jha, has informed that the damage worth crores was caused by the fire.
Although the details of the damage caused by the fire are yet to be confirmed, machines worth crores, manufactured tiles and industrial structures have been damaged.
