Lalitpur lifted the Veteran’s Cup title

Simara: Friends Club of Lalitpur has lifted the title of Veteran Cup 2078 in Simara. Lalitpur clinched the title with a 2-0 victory over Chawhil in the last match.

Jumnu Rai scored two goals to help Lalitpur win the title. Rai is a former player of Nepal’s national team. Rai, who scored two goals in the final game, was also declared Man of the Match.

Friends Club Lalitpur, which defeated Chawhil, has bagged 50,000 rupees along with the title. Runner-up Chawhil has received Rs 30,000.

Sagar Thapa of Chawhil has been declared the highest scorer of the tournament. Thapa is a former captain of the Nepali national team. He scored five goals during the game.

The winner, runner-up and best player of the competition were awarded by the Mayor of Jeetpur Simra Sub-Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Krishna Poudel and others distributed the prizes.

Central member of CPN (US) Dinesh Rai, CPN (UML) leader Manoj Poudel, ward president of ward no. 1 Hira Bahadur Gurung, Dysp Manojit Kunwar, Amritlal Shrestha, Chairman, Public Interest Consumer Committee, Satya Shrestha, Chairman, Radhakrishna Intermediate Community Forest Users Group, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Director, RN Enterprises Simara, Director of UR Gold Premium Spice Tea Umesh Chaulagai, Chairman of New Goreto Rehabilitation Center Raj Kumar Lama, Chairman of Simara Foundation Arif Hussain, Chairman of Nawa Durga Youth Club Hari Chaudhary and others were present. The program was chaired by Somlal Bomjan and conducted by Pradip Gautam.
