Ramesh Dhital Elected as the President of Overseas Nepalese Forum, Canada

Canada: Ramesh Dhital has been unanimously elected as the President of the Overseas Nepalese Forum (ONF) Canada. The fourth convention of the forum, held on Saturday, elected a 25 member executive committee under the leadership of Dhital.

Madan Adhikari has been elected as the Vice-President, Sandeep Paudel as the Secretary, and Krishna Parajuli and Bimala Karki as Assistant Secretaries. Similarly, Lok Gurung, KP Panta, Sudarshan Adhikari, Sujan Khatiwada, Rajan Paija, Durga KC, Arbin Paudel, Raju Bhattarai, Rinku Bhattarai, Prakash Dhakal, Dinesh Bisht, Mahesh Bisht, Sudarshan Sapkota, Suresh Bhattarai, Himal Aryal, Tara Lamichhane, Uddim Nyaupane, and others have been elected as members, as informed by the Secretary of the Election Committee, Ravindra Raj Ghimire.

The event was held under the chief patronage of Prabhuram Thapa, the Secretariat Member and US Region Incharge of the Overseas Nepalese Forum International Committee. The event was addressed by Kunti Thapa, Member of the Overseas Nepalese Forum International Committee and Women’s Department, and Janaki Karki, Deputy Chief of the Department.

The program was attended by Abhimanyu Basnet, Co-Treasurer of NRNA ICC, Ramesh Thapa, Advisor Coordinator and Former President of Overseas Nepalese Forum Canada, Hemraj Pandey, Member of NRNA ICC, KP Niraula, President of GP Foundation, Suresh Gautam, President of NBDKA, Social Worker Sita Sangroula, Kiroj Shrestha, Vice-President of NRNA Canada, Chanda Adhikari, General Secretary, Dinesh Khatiwada, President of NCNC, Dr. Thamanath Adhikari, Chairperson of NCCS, Bhumiraj Ghimire, President of Nepal House, Kedar Basnet, Chairperson of PNCC, Lila Bhandari, President of NCHC, Rabindra Lamsal, President of TNSC, Netra Bhattarai, President of NPRC, Dr. Purnachandra Kandel, Businessman, Hari Bhusal of Chitwan Society, Anil Thapa, Former President of NRNA Canada and Radio Operator, Suresh Rajoore of the Nepali Public Relations Committee, Kreejal KC, President of Laliguras Sports Club, and others who delivered speeches.

Due to geographical diversity, members who could not attend physically were allowed to participate via Zoom. Those joining via Zoom included Bhuwan Kharel, Member of the Nepali Investment Promotion Department of the Overseas Nepalese Forum International Committee and NRNA ICC member from British Columbia, Raju Bhattarai, Sandeep Paudel, Arbin Pokhrel, Rinku Bagle, and others from Alberta.

The event, chaired by World President Vishwambhar Ghimire, concluded with a welcome speech by Vice-President Bed Nidhi Gautam.
