Sports Minister Pramod Jayaswal Honors Female Cricketers by Visiting Their Homes
Simara: Madhesh Province Government’s Minister for Sports and Social Welfare, Pramod Jayaswal, has honored the U-19 national women’s cricket team players by visiting their homes. After making history by leading Nepal to qualify for the World Cup, Minister Jayswal personally visited the women cricketers from within the province and honored them at their homes.
Minister Jayaswal visited Alisha Kumari Yadav from Kalaiya and Sana Praveen from Birgunj at their homes and is scheduled to meet Puja Mahto from Mahottari on Monday. Puja is the captain of the U-19 team, while Sana is an opener batter and Alisha is the wicket keeper.
Minister Jayaswal mentioned that he visited the players and their families to encourage and motivate them for their remarkable achievement of making history with the national team. He also revealed that he had previously decided to provide each player a reward of NPR 151,000 as an incentive. The amount will be presented to the three players together.
In the recently concluded Women’s U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier in the UAE, Nepal defeated the host team by eight wickets, successfully qualifying for the World Cup to be held in January. This is the biggest achievement for the Nepal women’s team to date.
