Clash Between Municipal Police Over Border Dispute in Bara, 6 Injured

Simara: A clash broke out on Tuesday evening between municipal police of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City and Mahagadhimai Municipality over a border dispute near Chhathiya Pond.
The dispute started at the pond area in Siswa-Maheshpur while work was being done to expand the compound of a federal government drinking water project.
Local people said the situation became tense after municipal police from Mahagadhimai tried to damage beams and iron rods of an under-construction structure.
A total of six municipal police personnel from both sides were injured in the clash.
According to Bhulan Sah, chief of the Disaster and Environment Branch of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, the injured from Kalaiya are Laxmi Yadav, Rakesh Yadav, Bibek Singh, Bijay Yadav, and Neha Das. They are receiving treatment at Bayodha Hospital.
Similarly, Dharamraj Yadav from Mahagadhimai Municipality was injured and is being treated at LS Neuro Hospital, said municipal police in-charge Anil Lahera.
The border around Chhathiya Pond between Kalaiya and Mahagadhimai has been disputed for a long time.
