Gadhimai International Taekwondo Tournament will be held in Nijgadh
Simara: An international level taekwondo competition will be organized in Nijgadh of Bara in the first week of Jestha. An international level Gadhimai Taekwondo competition is going to be held from Jestha 4th under the organization of Madhes Pradesh Taekwondo Association.
Players from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Korea and Japan are going to participate in the tournament which is going to be held till Jestha 6. Madhes Pradesh Taekwondo Association President Pemasiddhi Lama informed that 240 players from 6 countries will participate in the competition.
According to President Lama, 180 players will compete in Gerogi Fight and 60 players in Pumsey. For Gerogi, there will be competition in 13 weight groups, while for Pumsey, there will be various competitions from 10 years to 18 years.
Rajkumar Lama, General Secretary of Madhes Province Taekwondo Association, said that they have paid attention to the use of technology to make the competition in the presence of international level referees organized and conflict-free. According to him, 50 of the players participating in the competition have also been insured for accidents.
Nijgadh Municipality and Mahagadhimai Municipality have supported the organizers to make the competition a success. The organizer has set an estimated cost of around 59 lakhs for running the competition. The organizers are preparing for the competition by forming a 50-member original organizing committee and various sub-committees under the leadership of President Lama.
