Jeetpursimara Gold Cup: Nepal Police and Machhindra in finals
Simara: After winning against Nepal APF Club, Nepal Police Club has entered the finals of the 14th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup. Police entered the finals after eight years by defeating APF 3-2 in the second semi-final match at Simara Stadium on Saturday night.
After eight years, Ashish Rai, Ramchandra Baje and Sujan Magar scored one goal each while bringing Police to the title race.
Pradeep Lama and Yuvraj Khadka scored for APF. Police took the lead in 47 seconds after the start of the game against APF.
APF was under pressure when Police doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Despite the pressure, APF’s finishing side, which created some opportunities against the police, looked weak.
In the 42nd minute of the game, APF’s Pradeep Lama reduced the lead by scoring a goal. Pradeep made good use of the pass taken out by Buddhi Rai inside the D-box and made the game 2-1.
APF looked very aggressive in the second half. In the 61st minute against the defensive looking police, Yuvraj Khadka scored a great goal and tied the game.
Sujan Magar scored the decisive goal in the 88th minute of the game against APF who missed some good opportunities in the game. Sujan gave the best finish to the ball inside the D-box and put the team in the title race.
Ramchandra Baje, who scored one goal in Police’s victory, was declared the player of the match. He won the prize of Rs 10,000 sponsored by Shubharambha College.
Now Police will play with Machhindra Football Club for the title.
