A woman involved in human trafficking arrested from Birgunj
Birgunj: Parsa Police have arrested a woman while she was allegedly attempting to traffic three other women to India.
The arrested individual has been identified as 28-year-old Sarita Sirmal of Gorkha Municipality-4, Gorkha.
According to Police Spokesperson Kishor Lamsal, Sirmal was arrested at the Shankaracharya Gate, located at the Nepal–India border, while she was taking three women from Hetauda to India.
She had reportedly taken an auto-rickshaw from Birgunj heading towards the Indian border. Police stopped the vehicle at the Shankaracharya Gate for questioning. Upon suspicion, she was taken into custody.
During the operation, all three women traveling in the auto were rescued by the police.
