Tribhuvan Army Club Wins Jeetpursimara Women’s Football Tournament Title

Simara: Tribhuvan Army Club won the Jeetpursimara Women’s Football Tournament title by defeating the defending champions, Armed Police Force (APF) Club. In a competitive final match held at Simara Stadium on Saturday night, Army beat APF 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the regulation time ended in a goal-less draw.

During the shootout, Tulasa Bohora, Anita Lamjel, Yashodha Shahi, and Dipa Shahi scored for Army, while Bimala BK missed her shot. For APF, Gita Rana, Nisha Thokar, and Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored, but Army goalkeeper Kabita BK saved a shot from APF captain Anita Basnet, and Anjana Rana Magar’s strike hit the goalpost.

Along with the trophy, champion Tribhuvan Army Club bagged a cash prize of NPR 511,111, while runner-up APF received NPR 255,555. Madhesh Province Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai, Provincial Assembly Member Deb Narayan Chaudhary, and Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Rajan Paudel, among others, handed out the prizes and trophy to the winning team and players.

Army’s goalkeeper Kabita BK, who was named Player of the Match in the final, was also awarded Best Goalkeeper of the tournament. Army’s Chandra Bhandari became the top scorer with eight goals throughout the competition, and Army’s Raju Tamang was named Best Coach.

The individual category winners received NPR 10,000 each. Meanwhile, APF’s Rashmi Kumari Ghising was declared Best Player of the tournament and was awarded a cash prize of NPR 51,000 by young entrepreneur Rajan Upreti.
