Jeetpursimara Women’s Football: Army Club Reaches Semi-Finals

Simara: Tribhuvan Army Club secured a massive 7-0 win against Darjeeling’s Kurseong Girls Football Academy on Monday at the Simara Stadium, advancing to the semi-finals of the Jeetpursimara Women’s Football Tournament.

Chandra Bhandari starred in the one-sided match by scoring a brilliant hat-trick, leading her team’s constant pressure and scoring spree from the very first half.

During the first half, Sukriya Mia scored two goals, while Tulsa Bohora and Chandra Bhandari added one each to put the Army team in a strong position. Maintaining their dominance in the second half, Bhandari scored two more goals to complete her hat-trick. Additionally, an own goal by Darjeeling player Kritika Rai sealed the comfortable 7-0 victory for the departmental team.

Chandra was named the Player of the Match and received a cash prize of 5,000 rupees. The final quarter-final match of the tournament will take place on Tuesday between the defending champions, departmental team APF Club, and India’s Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society, Ranchi.
