Jagdamba Jitpursimara Gold Cup: Birgunj in the quarterfinals
Simara: Birgunj United Club has entered the quarter-finals of the 13th Jagdamba jitpursimara gold Cup after beating Bagmati Youth Club. Birgunj secured a place in the last eight after defeating Bagmati 3-0 in the match held at Simara Stadium on Friday.
Vivek Chaudhary scored two goals and Kripa Chaudhary scored one goal in Birgunj’s victory. B Division club Birgunj won by scoring all three goals in the second half. Birgunj played a goalless draw in the first half against Club Bagmati of the C Division.
In the first half, both teams created some good opportunities but could not score. Birgunj, who could not make an initial rhythm in the game, played an excellent game in the second half. Birgunj, who struggled for goals in the first half, opened the account in the 54th minute of the game.
Birgunj captain Vivek Chaudhary led the team. Vivek made the game 1-0 by beating Bagmati defense Kamagate Mousa. After that, Kripa Chaudhary added another goal.
In the 56th minute of the game, Kripa doubled the lead of the team by scoring a goal. Sagar Chaudhary made use of a back pass inside the D-box and scored an attractive goal.
After taking a 2-0 lead against Bagmati, Birgunj dominated the match. Bagmati could not create any attractive opportunities in the second half. Keeping Bagmati under pressure, Birgunj added the third goal in the 86th minute of the game.
Vivek scored two goals in the match and was declared the man of the match. He received the man of the match award of Rs 10,000 sponsored by Mahalakshmi Bikas Bank.
Bharatpur and Makwanpur-11 are facing each other
Two teams of Mofasal are entering the field on Saturday under Jagdamba 13th Jitpursimara Gold Cup. Bharatpur Football Club and Makwanpur-11 will face each other in the match which will start after 5:30 PM at Simara Stadium.
Bharatpur defeated the host Nawa Janajagriti Yuva Club in the opening match of the tournament and is going to compete with Makwanpur 11 for entering the semi-finals.
