Orientation completed under School Health Program
Simara: A school health orientation program has been completed on Sunday, targeting schools within the Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city. The program was organized by the public health promotion division of the sub-metropolitan city.
50 female and male teachers participated in the orientation organized as part of the campaign to conduct health programs in 25 schools of the sub-metropolitan city. The department is conducting health programs in 25 schools, one from each of 24 wards of the sub-metropolitan city and one in Tangiyabasti.
Head of the department Ravi Bhaskar has informed that the teachers of the said school have been made to participate in the orientation program as health ambassadors. Bhaskar said that the teachers who participated in the program will conduct a health awareness campaign in the schools where they work.
The department had previously conducted an orientation program between school principals and heads of health institutions on Jestha 11. Head of the department Bhaskar said that since the program is carried out as a campaign, he is hopeful that health awareness will reach from teachers, students to parents.
The division has prepared to conduct eye and ear check-up camps, distribution of iron pills to teenagers, and distribution of deworming medicine in schools where health-related programs have been implemented.
