9 players from Madhes province in CAN’s ‘central contract’

Simara: Nine players from Madhes province including two from Bara have been included in the list of ‘Central Contract’ released by the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) for the year 2024. CAN has selected 30 male and 19 female players by dividing the grades into five levels to provide monthly service facilities.

In the classification made by CAN, seven male and two female players from Madhes province have been included. Anil Sah and Pawan Sarraf of Bara, who returned to the national team after two years, are also in the category of CAN.

According to classification, there are two players from Bara, three from Parsa, one each from Sarlahi, Mahottari, Siraha, Saptari. Parsa’s Aashif Shekh is in CAN’s Grade ‘A’ list. He will get a monthly salary of one lakh.

Similarly, Arif Shekh of Parsa and Gulshan Jha of Sarlahi are in grade ‘B’. They will get 70 thousand salary. Anil Sah of Bara, Pawan Sarraf and Vivek Yadav of Saptari are in grade ‘D’. They will get 35,000 per month. CAN has placed Rupesh Singh of Siraha from Madhes Pradesh in the emerging category.Singh will get a monthly salary of 25,000.

On the other hand, Pooja Mahato of Mahottari and Sana Praveen of Parsa have been included in the women’s list. Mahato, who is in grade ‘C’, will get 30,000 while Praveen will get 20,000 per month.

CAN, which previously classified grades ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ into three levels, this time added grade ‘D’ and emerging category. Secretary Paras Khadka has informed that the Central Committee meeting held on Fagun 12th and 14th of CAN has taken this decision.
