National identity card is mandatory to renew social security allowance

Simara: The National Identity Card and Registration Department has made national identity card mandatory for renewal of social security allowance in all districts of Madhes province from Shrawan 1st.

The department issued a notice and stipulated that the national identity card must be made mandatory for the beneficiaries of 28 districts, including eight in Madhes province, to receive social security allowance. Based on the decision taken by the Council of Ministers on 24th Jestha 2081, the department said that this provision is going to be implemented in 28 districts in the first phase.

According to the department, now the beneficiaries of 28 districts, including Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha and Saptari, have made it mandatory to have a national identity card to renew their social security allowance.

The department has also informed the people who are exempted from registering details in their identity card to contact their ward office as the renewal of social security allowance can be done by the end of Bhadra 2081.
