Rescue of 28 Nepali laborers held hostage

Simara: 28 Nepali workers who were held hostage for 5 months in Indian Kashmir have been rescued. Assistant Chief District Officer of Dhanusha Bishnu Prasad Bhusal said that 21 people from Siraha and 7 people from Dhanusha who had gone to Kashmir for employment were rescued and brought to Dhanusha on Friday.

According to CDO Bhusal, they were held hostage for five months in Srinagar, Kashmir. They were returned to Nepal with the support of the Nepali Embassy in India and the coordination of other organizations on the initiative of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

A family reunion program was held in Janakpur in the presence of the secretary of the ministry.
