Simara: Kumari Bank’s Nijgadh branch has handed over a cheque of one lakh rupees to a family from Ward 18, Badhaharwa of Jeetpursimara Sub-metropolitan City, as part of the critical illness insurance provided through the ‘Kumari Family Security Savings’ account. The bank transferred this amount under the critical illness insurance automatically available when the account is opened.

The cheque was handed over by the branch manager of Nijgadh, Anil Nepal, and Operations Incharge, Badri Prasad Bogati, who visited the home of Kamala Rimal in Badhaharwa. Kamala’s husband is suffering from cancer.

Kamala had opened the ‘Kumari Family Security Savings’ account two years ago. When Kamala opened the account, her husband’s critical illness insurance was also automatically activated. It is this insurance benefit for which Kamala received the one lakh rupee cheque.

The bank has made some changes to the benefits provided. Previously, both the account holder and their spouse were automatically given critical illness insurance. Now, however, only the account holder is eligible for this benefit, although the other benefits remain unchanged.

According to the branch manager, when a person opens a Kumari Family Security Savings account, both the account holder and their spouse are eligible for 10 lakh each in insurance, children under 16 years of age are eligible for 2 lakh each in accident insurance, four family members are eligible for 1 lakh in health insurance, and the account holder is eligible for 1 lakh in critical illness insurance.

A minimum deposit of 10 thousand rupees is required to open this account with Kumari Bank. Once the account is opened, the account holder’s family will be entitled to insurance benefits worth a total of 26 lakh rupees.
