Rape of 15-year-old girl in Saptari, accused arrested
Saptari: District Police Office Saptari has arrested one person on charges of rape and physical assault.
According to the police, 19-year-old Akalesh Kumar Mandal of Saptari district was arrested. When a 15-year-old girl was going to college on a bicycle at a place in the southern area of Koshi tributary canal in Bishnupur Rural Municipality 7, the accused mandal tried to stop her.
DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet, information officer of the police office, informed that the accused broke her left arm while retaliating by the girl.
The area police office Bishnupur immediately took the accused into custody. The victim girl has filed a complaint on Wednesday. In the complaint, she mentioned that she suffered severe physical and mental trauma and demanded legal action.
The police said that after presenting the accused in the court, the deadline has been extended, and further investigation process has been started. Health examination of the victim has also been conducted, and more evidence is being collected about the incident.
