MP Sushil Kanu Pledges Medical Support for Domestic Violence Victim
Birgunj: Sushil Kumar Kanu, MP for Parsa Constituency No. 2, has committed to covering all medical expenses for Harikala Devi Sahani, who was brutally attacked by her husband in Parsagadhi 7.
After visiting the victim at LS Neuro Hospital in Bara, Kanu assured her family that he would use his salary or other resources to fund her recovery.
The victim was severely injured last Sunday when her husband, Bishwanath Sahani, allegedly tied her up and attacked her with a wood-cutting saw.
The MP has called for the immediate arrest and strict prosecution of the perpetrator while highlighting the urgent need for systemic policy reforms to combat violence against women.
Kanu pledged to raise the issue in the upcoming parliamentary session, advocating for stronger legal frameworks and government-funded relief packages for survivors of such heinous crimes.
