Nijgadh mayor took office, model settlement and irrigation in priority

Simara: Newly elected mayor of Nijgadh Municipality Surath Puri has taken charge on Sunday. Puri took office after taking oath with the Chief Electoral Officer.

After taking office, Puri has decided to develop Nijgadh’s Majhi, Dalit and Khairghari squatter settlements as model settlements. It has been decided to promote Martyr Hiralal Park in Nijgadh Municipality-4 as a tourist area and two settlements on the east and west sides of the park as model settlements.

It has been decided to develop the slums of Majhi, Dalit and Khayarghari squatters in Nijgadh 8 on the east side of Hiralal Park as model settlements for the standard of living and comfortable living of the citizens, said Rabin Ghimire, Chief of Administration of the Municipality.

Similarly, Mayor Puri has decided to provide irrigation facility to the cultivable land within Nijgadh Municipality by adopting alternative measures. Mayor Puri has also given instructions to move ahead with the work so that there is no shortage of irrigation in the cultivable land.

Similarly, Puri has decided to immediately implement online based service with electronic signature to make the service of the municipality simple and easy. The service recipients have decided to develop and introduce technology so that they can avail the services of the municipality regardless of their location.

Puri’s inauguration ceremony was attended by city deputy chief Sommaya Thing, outgoing deputy chief Liladevi Lamichhane Khanal, chief administrative officer Suman Kumar Karki, administration chief Rabin Ghimire and other people’s representatives and locals.
