The death toll in the bus accident has reached 18
Simara: The death toll has reached 18 in the bus accident that took place on the 3no. bridge of Bara on Thursday morning. Among those seriously injured in the accident, two more people died during treatment.
Those who died during treatment on Thursday night are 55-year-old Gaya Raut Kamkar of Parsa Sakhuwaprasauni Village-6 Lakhanpur and 60-year-old Malat Devi Chaurasia of Birganj Metropolitan Municipality-16 Nagwa. Bara police spokesperson Rajesh Thapa has informed that kamkar died in Hetauda Hospital and Chaurasiya in Narayani Hospital Birgunj.
Earlier, 16 people died in the accident. Bara Police Spokesperson Thapa said that with the death of two more injured, the death toll has reached 18 and the family of the deceased has taken the dead body from the hospital. Thapa informed that 26 other people who were injured in the accident are being treated in different hospitals.
According to Thapa, 14 people are being treated in Old Medical College Chitwan, five in Chitwan Medical College, two in Churehill Hospital Hetauda, two in Cooperative Hospital Hetauda, two in Gandak Hospital and one in Hetauda Hospital. Thapa informed that some of the injured are in serious condition.
The accident took place when the passenger bus BA-PRA-06-001KHA0110 coming from Narayanghat towards Birgunj fell down the curve of bridge number 3 under Pathlaiya-Hetauda road section. The bus carrying 46 passengers was damaged when it fell down the road.
