Jagdamba 13th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup: Himalayan Sherpa Club enters in final
Simara: Himalayan Sherpa Club has entered the finals of the Jagdamba 13th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup. In the first quarterfinal match held on Wednesday at the Simara Rangasala, Sherpa got close to winning the title of Jeetpursimara Gold Cup after 10 years with an easy 3-0 victory over Makwanpur.
In the 29th minute of the game, Sushil Rai gave Sherpa the lead on Abiomi’s cross. Sherpa’s coach Suman Shrestha decided to send Nishan on the field in place of Vishwas in the 74th minute of the match, which turned out to be correct. Nishan made the victory easy by scoring two consecutive goals.
In the 87th minute of the game, Milan Rai made good use of a pass inside the D-box. Milan entered the field along with Nishan in place of Khamir Gilson.
Sherpa, who doubled the lead in the last period of the game, added a goal in the injury time and scored a wide victory. Nishan scored the second personal goal and the third goal for the team in five minutes added injury time.
Nishan was declared the man of the match. He received 10,000 cash as Man of the Match sponsored by Mahalaxmi Development Bank.
In the second semi-final match of the Gold Cup, former winners NRT and newcomers Church Boys United will face each other on Thursday.
