Church Boys United won the Jagdamba 13th Simara Gold Cup title
Simara: Church Boys United won the Jagdamba 13th Simara Gold Cup title. Church Boys won the first title of the season by defeating Himalayan Sherpa Club 2-0 in the final match at Simara Stadium on Saturday.
Captain Milan Rai and Ashish Chapagain scored goals for Church Boys while lifting the title in the first participation. In the presence of more than 10,000 spectators, the Church Boys won the title, while the Himalayan Sherpas settled for the runner-up position.
In the 35th minute of the game, captain Milan Rai gave Church Boys the lead. Excited by the lead against Sherpa, Church Boy scored another goal at the end of the game to win 2-0. Ashish Chapagain scored the second goal for the Church Boys in the added injury time of the scheduled 90-minute match. With his goal, the Church Boys managed to win the jeetpursimara Gold Cup with a 2-0 goal difference.
The winner of the title, Church Boys, received 10 lakhs and runner-up Sherpa received 5 lakhs. Church Boys defender Kamal Shrestha was declared the best player of the tournament. He received a TVS Rider motorcycle.
