Tiger found dead in Nijgadh, death of four tigers in three years
Simara: A tiger was found dead on Tuesday in the Kachadiya community forest area of Bara’s Nijgadh Municipality 4. The tiger was found dead in the forest near Bakaiya river in the forest area.
After seeing the dead tiger, the locals reported to the sub-division forest office at Nijgadh. A team of Parsa National Park and Forest technicians reached after the information of the locals and picked up the body of the tiger. According to the technician, it seems that the tiger died four to five days ago and the cause of death will be revealed only after the examination.
The tiger has been buried inside the forest office after taking a ‘sample’ of its body for testing. Binod Singh, head of the Division Forest Office Bara, informed that the tiger was buried and the sample of the body will be sent to the Nepal Institute of Science and Technology Pragya (NAST) for testing.
Santosh Kumar Bhagat, information officer of Parsa National Park, said that a technician was sent after receiving information that a tiger was found dead in the area under the division forest office. He said that the cause of the tiger’s death will be revealed only after the examination.
On the other hand, a tiger that was being treated in the cage of the park died a week ago. Bhagat has informed that the injured tiger was ‘darted’ from thori 11 months ago and died while being treated in a cage.
Along with this, four tigers have died in Bara in the last three years. Earlier on Ashoj 14, 2079, a tiger died due to dehydration in Nijgadh under the Kathmandu-Terai (Madhes) highway, while on Push 18, 2077, a tiger died due to a car collision on the Pathlaiya-Amlekhgunj road section.
In the census conducted in 2022, 41 tigers were seen in Parsa National Park.
