The child was injured by being pierced by a drain rod
Simara: An eight-year-old boy was injured on Thursday morning after being pierced by a drain rod in front of Simara Airport in Bara. Pritraj Giri, a resident of Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city 1, is among the injured.
The incident took place in the drain on the road leading north from the main gate of the airport. The rod of the drain pierced the child’s stomach. The child has been taken to Birgunj for further treatment from Alpine Hospital in Simara.
The incident happened due to the negligence of the contractor company that took the contract for the construction of the canal. Locals have informed that the rod was not covered in the slope made for the drain and the child fell down while playing and got pierced by the rod.
After the incident, the locals took the child to the hospital.
