Two Brothers Drown in Water-Filled Pit in Thori
Birgunj: In Thori Rural Municipality 2, Hanumannagar, Parsa, two brothers from the same family drowned in a water-filled pit.
The deceased are 8-year-old Ansh Kathayat and 4-year-old Ayansh Kathayat, sons of Manojay Kathayat.
The two brothers had gone to bathe in a nearby stream before going to school on Tuesday morning. They entered a water-filled pit dug by a dozer near the stream close to their home and subsequently drowned and went missing.
According to Kishor Lamsal, Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the District Police Office in Parsa, locals saw both individuals floating in the water and rescued them, bringing them to the Thori hospital. However, medical personnel declared both children dead on arrival.
Spokesperson Lamsal also stated that preparations are underway to transfer both bodies to Narayani Hospital in Birgunj for postmortem examination.
