Madhesh Province-Level Scrabble Tournament Begins in Simara

Simara: A Madhesh Province-level Scrabble tournament has begun in Simara. The second edition of the competition, organized by Simara Public English School, began on Friday.

The two-day competition features 50 students from Bara, Parsa, and Siraha districts. Students from 14 schools in Bara, two schools in Siraha, and one school in Parsa are participating in the competition.

The organizers have announced that the students who secure first, second, and third places in the competition will be awarded, and one outstanding player will be selected from each of the three districts.

Principal Basant Dhakal of Simara Public English School informed that the tournament, which was initiated last year, has been continued this year as well. The competition has been organized with the support of the American Pokhara Corner and Pokhara Public Library and in coordination with the Scrabble Club.

The tournament was inaugurated by Madhesh Province Assembly Member Devnarayan Chaudhary. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City Bhola Prasad Adhikari, N-PABSON Central Member Ram Prasad Adhikari, Scrabble Club representative Bhojraj Subedi, Baljagriti English School Hetauda Director Binod Subedi and representatives of the host school shared their views on the importance of the game of Scrabble.

The conclusion of the competition is scheduled to take place on Saturday, as announced by the organizers. The event is receiving technical support from Subas Adhikari, Coordinator of the Scrabble Club Bara.

The inauguration ceremony was facilitated by Shalikram Adhikari.
