Preparations for the 13th edition of the Jagdamba Jitpursimara Gold Cup in final stage

Simara: Preparations for the 13th edition of Mofasal’s prestigious football tournament Jagdamba Jitpursimara Gold Cup have reached the final stage. Final preparations are currently being made at the stadium for the tournament that will begin on 9th of Chaitra.

Aiming at the opening ceremony, the organizer Nawa Janjagriti Yuva Club is doing the work of stage management and parapet painting in the stadium. Organizing a press conference at the stadium on Tuesday, the organizers also said that the preparations have reached the final stage.

The president of the host club, Ramchandra Lama, said that the preparations for the competition have reached the final stage. According to Lama, it has been decided that 10 teams will participate in the competition, including five from A Division.

Former winners Newroad Corner Team (NRT), runners-up Nepal APF Club, Church Boys, Satdobato Youth Club, Himalayan Sherpa Club, Birgunj United Club of Mofsal, Makwanpur 11, Bagmati Yuva Club, KBA Global Chitwan and the organizers will participate in the tournament. The opening match of the tournament, which will be conducted till 18th of Chaitra, will be between the host and Chitwan.

Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City is the main supporter and Jagdamba Steels Pvt Ltd is the main sponsor of the competition, the winner will get 10 lakh and the runner-up will get 5 lakh. For category awards, the best player will get a motorcycle, the best goalkeeper, midfield, defense, forward, coach, top scorer will get 20,000 each, while emerging players will get 15,000 in cash.

All matches of the tournament will be under flood lights. For the last two years, matches are being played at Simara Rangasala at night. Aiming at the summer season and the audience, the organizers have started conducting the game under flood lights.

There has been a large presence of spectators when the game is played at night. The organizers have said that an estimated 1 crore 6 Lakh rupees will be spent to conduct the competition. Jitpursimara sub-metropolitan city, Jagdamba Steels along with local factories, industrialists and locals have supported the competition.

Locals are also excited that the competition will play an important role in establishing the identity of Jitpursimara at the national level. Spectators come to Simara from cities like Birgunj, Nijgadh, Chandranigahpur, Hetauda, along with Bara district to watch the Jitpursimara Gold Cup, which has established itself as a prestigious competition of Mofasal.
