Jagdamba 13th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup: Church boys in the semifinals
Simara: Divisional team Nepal APF Club has been eliminated from the Jagdamba 13th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup. Former runners-up APF returned home from the first match after losing 2-1 to Church Boys United Club in the match held at Simara Stadium on Tuesday.
The Church Boys, who participated in the Jeetpursimara Gold Cup for the first time, beat APF and made their way to the final four. Reversing the lead taken by APF at the beginning of the game, Church Boys turned the result in their favor.
Santosh Shrestha scored a goal in the 24th minute of the game and gave APF the early lead. But the lead of APF could not last for long. In the 31st minute of the game, Santosh Neupane headed the cross ball of Ranjit Pandey to equalize for Church Boys.
Church Boys, who came back to the game with Santosh’s goal, increased the lead in the 42nd minute of the game. In the first half, Church Boys brought the game to a state of 2-1. In the second half, although both teams showed aggressive play, APF was under pressure, trailing by one goal.
Ouso Bempa of Church Boys was declared Man of the Match. He received 10,000 cash for man of the match sponsored by Everest Bank.
Today, Himalayan Sherpa and Makwanpur 11 will face each other to enter the final
Jagdamba 13th Jeetpursimara Gold Cup football tournament, the first semi-final match will be held on Wednesday. Himalayan Sherpa and Makwanpur 11 will face each other in the match at Simara stadium after 6 pm.
Sherpa is the winner of the second edition of the Jeetpursimara Gold Cup, while Makwanpur 11 is a newcomer team. Sherpa defeated Satdobato Youth Club and Makwanpur defeated Bharatpur Football Club to reach the semi-finals.
