Nijgadh: Death toll rises to three in blast at garage

Simara: The death toll has reached three in the incident of a suspected explosion in a vehicle repair factory (garage) located at Nijgadh 7 in Bara on Monday. 20-year-old Ritu Rajat of Birgunj Metropolitan City 9, who was seriously injured in the blast, died during treatment on Tuesday morning.

Rajat was undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital. Earlier, 45-year-old garage manager Resham Magar and 35-year-old Rakesh Jaiswal of Bharat Guwai were killed in the incident.

Three others were injured in the incident. Among the injured, 20-year-old Arbin Sah from Ramgarhwa India, is in critical condition. Sah is undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital. Similarly, Firod Dewan of Birganj 9 and Surya Bahadur Thapa of Nijgadh 5 sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The police are investigating the suspicious object that exploded at Rohit Workshop located in Nijgadh 7. The police did not reveal what caused the explosion. Earlier, the police had reported that the cylinder had exploded and corrected their information and said that the suspicious object had exploded.

The police have detained two people for investigating the incident. Ramesh Jaiswal of India Motihari and 29-year-old Tikaram Pakhreen of Nijgadh 9 have been detained for investigation of the incident, Bara police spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane informed.
