Church Boy defeated by Siraha

Simara: By beating the defending champion Church Boys United Club, Siraha’s newcomer team Salhesh Yuwa Club has made a winning start in the 14th Simara Gold Cup. In the match at Simara Stadium, Siraha defeated Church Boys by 3-2.

With an exciting victory against the strong team of ‘A’ division, Siraha has also entered the semi-finals of the competition.

In the 14th minute of the game, Aashish Chapagai scored for Siraha and gave the team the lead.

Church Boys scored an equalizing goal in the 51st minute against Siraha, who had full control in the first half.

In the second half, the church boys fell behind again in the 63rd minute of the game, despite making some progress. Siraha returned to the game with 2-1 when the ball hit by Prabesh Kunwar went inside his own post when the defender of Church Boys tried to clear it.

Church Boys’ Niraj Chaudhary’s cutback in the 73rd minute hit Siraha’s defender Kuldeep Karki and the game became exciting.

But Shishir Lekhi scored a decisive goal at the last moment and made Siraha a trip to the last four.

Lekhi was declared the ‘Shubharambha Player of the Match’. He won Rs.10,000. He was awarded by Shambhu Mandal, Principal of Shubharambha College.
