Simara: The Madhesh Province Government has unveiled special concession programs targeting underprivileged citizens and the working class on the occasion of completing its first 100 days in office.

Chief Minister Krishna Yadav, while presenting the government’s achievements, announced a new legal provision that allows illiterate citizens who earn their livelihood by driving e-rickshaws, autos, and tractors to obtain a driver’s license without a written exam. Instead, they can directly take a practical (trial) test.

According to the government, this practical policy aims to protect the employment of laborers who drive vehicles purely for survival rather than personal interest, ensuring they do not face legal complications due to illiteracy.

In the health sector, the government has also decided to eliminate complicated procedures related to patient subsidies. Instead of requiring patients to apply and wait for financial assistance, the government will now directly pay the concerned hospitals, ensuring timely treatment for patients.

To make healthcare services more technology-friendly, arrangements have been made for patients to book hospital ‘e-tickets’ via mobile phones.

Additionally, the process of medicine procurement, which had been stalled for the past two years, has now been resumed, Chief Minister Yadav stated.

The government has also expressed its commitment to developing Madhesh Province into a hub for sports and religious tourism, as well as accelerating large-scale infrastructure development projects.
