Simara: The services of the Simraungadh municipality have been affected due to vandalism by a group of students for not paying the travel expenses. Most of the branches of the office were damaged due to vandalism and the service was affected.

Millions of dollars have been damaged in the municipality due to vandalism. The students vandalized computers, furniture, windows, doors, glass, vehicles, air conditioners etc. in various branches of the office. A group of students who came to the municipal office to demand travel expenses vandalized the municipality.

More than 100 students of classes 9 and 10 of Kankali, Khajani, Kachorwa secondary schools reached the office to meet the mayor Kishori Sah. The staff of the office said that there is currently an outbreak of dengue and after some time the students started vandalizing after requesting to go on a visit.

City chief Sah said that travel expenses will be provided after dengue outbreak subsides. But the students ransacked the office saying that they need to get travel expenses immediately.

Nepal Police and Armed Police Force reached the spot after receiving the information about the vandalism of the office. The police had to resort to baton charge to disperse the vandalizing students.

After the incident Bara Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal, Bara Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogti took information about the vandalism of the office. Superintendent of Police Bogti said that the investigation of the incident has been started.

Mayor Sah of the municipality said that most of the equipment, materials and structures of the office were vandalized and it will take a few days to resume the service.
