A complaint was made to the police after the metal bought as gold was brass
Simara: A businessman of Bara Pachrauta filed a complaint with the police after the metal he had bought as gold was brass. 37-year-old Meraj Ansari of Pacharauta Municipality 5, Beldari Karamwa, filed a complaint at the District Police Office Bara on Thursday saying that he was cheated.
On Mansir 16, Ansari, who was running a grocery store business, bought five biscuits of 10/10 grams as gold for 4 lakh 25 thousand. Ansari went to the police office seeking justice when the biscuit, which he had bought as gold, broke out while trying to make jewellery.
Ansari has mentioned in the police report that he bought the metal with 40-year-old Binay Tharu Chaudhary, a resident of Baragadhi Rural Municipality 2 Daurawa. Ansari said that he bought the metal after Tharu came to the shop and said that he had five 10/10 gram gold biscuits and that he would sell them as he was in need of money.
Ansari informed the police that his acquaintance Rajendra Mahato of Mahagadhimai 9 met Tharu and Tharu sold the metal to him as gold. After getting the information that he was cheated, Ansari filed a fraud case against Chaudhary.
Bara Superintendent of Police Suresh Prasad Kafle said that a complaint has been lodged with the police regarding the issue of buying brass as gold. Superintendent of Police Kafle said that although the metal does not look like gold, it will be sent for examination.
Lakshmi Yadav, the ward president of Pacharauta Municipality 5, has asked the people involved in the fraud to be immediately arrested and legal action should be taken.
