Tharu Maghi Utsav starting from today on Jeetpursimara 11 Khairwa
Simara: A two-day Tharu Maghi (Tila Sankrant) culture festival is starting from Sunday at Ward No. 11, Khairwa Sports Ground of Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City. Devnarayan Chaudhary, member of the Madhes state assembly, will inaugurate a program of the festival.
On the occasion of the Maghi festival celebrated by the Tharu community with great joy, Jeetpursimara 11 is going to organize the program for the first time. The program will be organized under the patronage of the Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha with the main support of the office of Ward No. 11 of Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city.
Tharu Maghi (Tila Sankrant) Culture Festival Main Planning Committee has been formed to organize the program. In the two-day program organized under the leadership of the committee, there will be dances and other performances reflecting the culture of the Tharu community, Tharu idols, children’s garden, and various stalls.
Chairman of the organizing committee Anil Chaudhary informed that Jhumra, Jhumta, Purwi, Lagni, Birhani, Sohar Geet, Harfarauri, Samachakewa, Ghato, Jat Jatin, Stick and Thakara dances will be performed during the program. Tharu artists Khem Chaudhary, Rajeev Chaudhary, Sagun Chaudhary and Sunil Bishwakarma will perform in the two-day event.
Chaudhary said that the total estimated cost of the program is eight lakh five thousand. In the press conference, the ward president Bindalal Sah said that the ward office helped to celebrate Maghi, which is an important festival of the Tharu community, with joy.
Tharu leaders Ruplal Chaudhary, Rajendra Chaudhary and others gave speeches in the program. The program was facilitated by Pradip Gautam.
