The 4th edition of International Veteran Football is going to be held
Simara: The 4th edition of International Veteran Football is going to be held in the first week of Ashwin. Simara Veteran Club is going to organize the competition from Ashwin 1to Ashwin 5.
The winner of the competition will receive 3 lakhs, and the runner-up will receive 150,000 cash. According to the organizers, the first cash prize that the winner will receive is the highest among the veteran football tournaments organized throughout the country.
The organizers have added one lakh to last year’s prize money to three lakhs. Last year, the winner received Rs 2 lakh and the runner-up Rs 1 lakh.
Rajkapur Raut, president of the organizing club, said that they are going to organize a competition with the highest amount of cash prizes in the country. In a press conference held at Hotel Simara Paradise in Simara, Chairman Raut informed that 12 teams from Nepal and India will participate in the competition.
According to the host club, Unity Club Birgunj, Hetauda Veteran Club, Chitwan Veteran Football Club, Saraswati Nagar Veteran Kathmandu, Our Dharan Football Club, Katari Tiger Veteran Club, Pokhara Veteran Club, Real Friends Veteran Sikkim, Legends Veteran Darjeeling, Clive House Veteran Calcutta and the organizer will participate.
Hulas Steels will be the main sponsor of the competition and competition will be organized with the main support of Jeetpursimara sub-metropolitan city. Co-sponsors include Jagdamba Steels Nepal Lube Oil, Nabil Bank Simara, Prabhu Bank Simara, UR Gold Premium Masala. Chairman Raut also stated that all the wards of Jeetpursimara and Quest Pharmaceuticals will support the competition.
Evergreen Terai Hospital, LS Neuro, Susapta Medical are the medical partners of the tournament, while Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance is the insurance partner. Hari Chaudhary, Binod Pariyar, Raju Adhikari, Bishal Ghimire and others from the host club were present at the press conference.
Simara Veteran has been organizing the Veteran Football Tournament regularly. The first edition of the competition was won by Nawalparasi Veteran, the second edition by Morang Veteran and the third edition by Freedom Fighter Kathmandu.
