Preparations for Jeetpursimara Festival are in full swing

Simara: The first Jeetpursimara festival is being held from the third week of Falgun under the organization of Jeetpursimara City Industry and Commerce Association. The festival is going to be organized from the 18th to the 29th of Falgun at the open field near the Land Revenue (Malpot) office located at Jeetpursimara 3.

With the slogan of ‘Agriculture, Tourism, Sports, Industry and Trade, Jitpursimara, Bara Madhes the main basis of prosperity’, the association, which started preparations a few days ago, organized a press conference on Monday and informed about the purpose of the festival. The association, which is going to organize the festival for the first time under its leadership, expects that the 12-day festival will make the sluggish commercial sector active.

The president of the association, Mohan Sharma Lamichhane, said that the purpose of the festival is to promote and encourage the business sector, which has stalled due to the economic recession, and to make it viable. Stating that every sector of the society is going to be included in the festival, Lamichhane informed that efforts are being made to add energy to the business sector.

There will be about two hundred stalls in different areas at the festival. In this stall, there will be an exhibition of various fields including economic, educational, tourism, agriculture. According to Lamichhane, the citizens who come to observe the festival will get to understand about those commercial areas and can consult about the purchase of materials and services according to their needs. Students will have to pay 25 rupees and others 50 rupees to enter the festival, while disabled and senior citizens can visit for free.

Prakash Giri, general secretary of the association, said that the festival will include cultural programs, wrestling competitions, children’s gardens and other entertainment fields in the presence of local and national artists. He also informed that 20 sub-committees have been formed to prepare for the festival.

In the press conference, former president of the association Sanjay Sah, founder president Ghanshyam Giri, president of Nepal Journalist Federation Bara Resham Tiwari, coordinator of publicity committee Rajuraj Giri and others gave speeches. Vice President Gajendra Gupta, Secretary Bishnu Prasad Adhikari and others were present at the press conference.
